The Capital District Farmers Market is the place to go for locally grown produce, plants, and flowers, not to mention baked goods and handmade crafts. Farmers and growers from nine counties offer their goods every weekend from early May through late October. Lots of seasonal and special events--like the strawberry festival, lawn and tractor day, and hayrides--make this a fun morning out with the kids.

Has anyone NOT been to Indian Ladder Farms? Famous cider donuts, pick your own apples and berries (depending on the season), farm animals, favorite birthday party and field trip spot. Closed during the winter. A perfect summer outing for the family. Pick your own strawberries now!

Stanton's Farm

If you're looking for hay rides to the pumpkin patch, corn mazes, and cider donuts that melt in your mouth, then Stanton's Farm is the place to go. There is an admission fee, but your kids will think the pretty awesome hay slide is well worth it. (Also, fee is applied toward purchases of $25 or more.) Beat the crowds at the bigger farms and get ready for Halloween at Stanton's.
